Released in 1931, Le 1940 Rouge de by Chanel is rose, aromatic, fresh spicy perfume with aldehydic undertones. Crafted by Ernest Beaux. It opens with aldehydes and geranium, transitions through heart notes of rose and violet, and settles into a warm base of amber and java vetiver oil.
